In 2020 Megan had a busy year producing and hosting a series of ‘inspiring conversations with inspiring people in meditation’, for peak industry body, Meditation Australia.
Between May and July 2020 – to support the organisation in her voluntary capacity as a Board Member – Megan produced six online video conversations, available to both MA members and the public.
An initiative started to support the MA community during the COVID-19 pandemic, the episodes of this “vodcast” were released monthly, alternating with a series of written member profiles/Q&As, which Megan also edited and produced.
Among others, the written Q&As include:
- Renowned Tibetan spiritual painter, Romoio Shrestha (left)
- Melbourne Sufi meditation teacher, Hazem Omran
- Adelaide psychologist Fiona Fallo
- Melbourne mindfulness pioneer Dr. Craig Hassed, and more.
Read them all on the Meditation Australia blog.
The interviewees for the MA Vodcast are:
- Dr. Elise Bialylew (Mindful In May)
- Dr. Rick Hanson (Neurodharma, feature image)
- Ken and Elizabeth Mellor (The Awakening Network),
- Kristy Arbon (Heartworks)
- Melli O’Brien (Mindfulness.com) and
- Jess Huon (Jess Huon Meditation).
View them for free on the Meditation Australia YouTube channel, along with many others.
In February 2020 Megan also interviewed Vidyamala Burch, co-founder of pioneering UK mindfulness-based pain management program, Breathworks.
This video – entitled Pain and The Body – was produced by Megan for MA in June 2020, is available to watch below and on YouTube.
The video interview with Vidyamala also ccompanied the online forum, Pain Management Awareness for Meditation Teachers, which Megan produced and co-hosted with fellow MA Board member, Lisa Forde (Australian Centre for Holistic Studies).
Speakers included:
- Clinical psychologist and compassion-focused therapist, Helen Perry;
- Orthopaedic surgeon and MBSM teacher, Dr. Tony Dunin, and
- MBSM teacher Jo Dunin, both from Melbourne Centre for Mindfulness.

After a busy 12 months, in August 2020 Megan wound up her time as a volunteer Board Member for Meditation Australia. She remains an active, registered member of the Association, and looks forward to seeing how the organisation grows and thrives.
